JVC SR-HD1250US blu-Ray recorder

Does anyone have any hands on experience with this stand alone blu-ray burner?? It would seem to compliment our editing systems in that it will directly burn SD DVDs of HD programs, can store HD programs on the internal HDD, has blu-ray menu capabilities although limited, has limited editing capabilities, could be used to record long format programs, has a variety of format capabilities and input formats via usb and firewire etc. At under $1000 it is still expensive, but could be used in place of a number of pro pieces of equipment all costing more. It seems as though the firewire is input only from what I can surmise. The only way to get HD out from the HDD would be via the component outs. Comments Please!
