What are you calling striping the tape? Record black over it? I haven't had any problem using tapes several times so far. I worked with an ABC station, years ago, that had a very small budget. We used U-matic over and over. It some times had drop outs al over but they didn't seem to care. I just retrieved some 83 minute Panasonics today from some old rawfootage that has only been used once. I will use that the next few weeks. I have thousands of those. I have kept my raw footage since I started DV in I think 1999. Bob
