7 days ago I received my S-4000Pro.
It's a pleasure editing HDV watching on a HDV monitor.
Now we can see what we get.
But I also found 12 issues some of them resulting in a system crash.
Issues have been reported to MS/Germany.

It would be nice to hear what the problems with the system are, unless you don't want to reveal them. Just ordered a S4000 yesterday, and now I read this Yipees! Hopefully they are minor problems that are cause system crashes and not in the NTSC models.

Hello Hans,

Although I am not in a position to provide support for PAL Casablanca customers (my sphere of knowledge is focused on the NTSC products) I want to ensure you know about the updated OS software for your S-4000 unit: - I received this as a MS Distributor:

Bogart SE V1.1a is ready. This update is free for all S-4000 and S-4000 Pro
users.

There is a long list of items addressed in this update.

I am jealous that you have your S-4000 before I do --- but on the other hand - we over here across the 'pond' do (generally speaking) see a more 'mature' release version of the OS.

Many thanks Chet for your tip.
I had no e-mail reply yet from MS/Germany.
In downloads of MS/Germany I found the downloadable Bogart SE V1.1a.
I tryed to download the zipped 590MB but it's too slow although I have DSL 6000.
Where can I read the list about addressed items in update?

Chet I found the list you mentioned in "News" of MS/Germany site.
But items refer to other issues, not one of my list of 12 items is mentioned.

Have we heard any word on the new Quadcam or Motion Perfect?I have been editing on a Kron for the last few years and just recently purchased an S-4000 Pro.I am definitely ready for the trade out

, but Quadcam and Motion Perfect are a necessity for me because I produce commercials , video and edit weddings and events, and usually use at least one of these in each production.

Kevin,

Here is the news on that front -- the 're-engineered' QuadCam software is in the process of development. I have heard it is progressing well!

Regarding Motion Perfect, the company that developed that software is no longer in business. Jorg Sprave has already succsessfully contracted with a software firm to produce for us a new Motion software for the S-4000 units. I do not have a timeline on that but know it is also in the works!

I managed the download somehow and have updated to 1.1a
By now I have detected issue #16 and have reported.
I will send you the list of issues.
