Solitaire SD 4:3 image squashed on video output SOLVED

I have been using a Solitaire for the first time with Bogart 5 capturing some stuff from VHS, I have the screen setting set to Video 4:3 outputting to a 4:3 TV and the project set to SD 720x576p25 4:3 and have a weird issue that I don't see in Bogart 4, when playing back any clips from the scene bin or from the timeline the image is stretched with black borders down each side. It's sort of like when you squash a 4:3 video to a 16:9 display but the opposite way around with the borders down each side of the screen. The editing window is fine but as soon as I play back a video it switches. It doesn't do this during the capture and also if I export any video via the media manager the footage is fine, it just seems like a playback issue and one that also effects if i'd want to playback my project via the analog out to a recorder.
If I use a different display such as VGA I don't have the issue
Am I missing something here?, like I say it works fine with other versions of Bogart (well 2&4 at least)

Just incase anyone has the same issue I found out what was causing this,
In the settings menu in the ‘record, playback’ option uncheck ‘prefer perfect play’

"Perfect Play" should only be there on systems with HDMI output, not on a Solitaire Ultra.

Does this occur with Bogart v5.13 (last version for Arabesk 4+5) or Bogart v5.22 (current NTSC version for Arabesk 6+7)

mmm not sure then, I'm using 5.5c (PAL) had the same issue with 5.3

I already had that DVD image and in my error thought I was running a newer version LOL, so I did the update but still have to unckeck the "perfect play" option

I see there's still an issue with the direct firewire transfer to a PC

The direct Firewire transfer to a PC depends on the Microsoft Windows device drivers. Since Microsoft is no longer supporting Firewire officially, it may work or not. Since the manufacturer of the 15 year old Solitaire system does not exist any more, there are no changes on the operating system core since 2013. Only Bogart Windows features that can be easily transferred to Bogart Linux and error fixes on that way are made.

What has changed since Bogart 5.5c is documented here (with Google Translate) in the Bogart v6 (and higher) overviews.

Your free updates are possible up to the Bogart 8.2 installation.

When playing back clips from either the scene bin or storyboard is there any way of turning off the on screen display?, I had an option to do so on my original Casablanca

• Using the Analog playback, there is no video overlay in Bogart 5.
• Also not when using two displays.
• With Bogart 8 and higher, the overlay display can be switched on/off in the new "Finish / Export / Settings" menu.
