7/10/09 - Bogart 2.3d is now available. It has been mailed to all registered S4000 and S4000 Pro owners. It is also available for download on our website. Please be sure to discard all 2.3c discs.



IMPORTANT: To all S-4000 / S-4000 Pro users that have not yet installed the Bogart 2.3c version

The 2.3c has been received very positively (so far) and we have received emails from happy customers. The comments we see on the online forums are mostly very encouraging as well. So we are all pretty enthusiastic!

However, we would like to ask those S-4000 and S-4000 Pro users that have not installed the new version to wait for the update for the 2.3d version, which will be available within the next 36 hours. Please email us back at sales@macrosystem.us so we can send you that update as soon as possible. Also, please write "RE: OS 2.3c Update" in the subject line of your email. Note, if you have done the update already, please do not re-install your machine another time with the 2.3c disc.

The reason for this request is that we have had isolated reports from users who have experienced a problem during the installation that leads to the unit no longer booting up afterwards. This is uncomfirmed at this time and we are looking into it right now. It may be possible that the BIOS upgrade tool given to us by the manufacturer of the main boards in these units is not successful in 100% of the procedures. This is still only a possibility as we have not seen any of these supposedly damaged units here, but we think it is the right thing to give out a warning to minimize the inconveniences for our users.

Now if you have already done the update and your machine works, then you do not have to worry at all. Your BIOS has been updated successfully and everything is fine.

Should you have run into the installation problem and your system seems to not work anymore, please contact us. We would like to go through some basic steps with you on the phone to either fix the problem right then or arrange the swift repair in Boulder.

Again, if you have already installed the 2.3c and your machine is working, there is no reason to worry. Also, users of the S-2000 and S-4100 units are not affected by this and you can continue to use the 2.3c version just fine.

PS: In some cases, we had people just not connecting the unit to the right monitor output. The default for the S4000 machines is the video (or S-video) output, so if you do not see anything on your DVI or VGA screen, please check if there is a signal on the analog video out. This problem can easily be fixed just by choosing the correct output setting after the installation has been completed.
