I'm a bit out of date, but I believe at one time MM did not playback Blu-ray and I believe it might require an optional software.

Your best bet is to play it in a stand alone Blu-ray player or PC with a blu-ray rom drive or burner.

I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.

Charles,

In two Blu-ray players?

It won't play in a DVD player.

Charles, not all Blu-ray players are compatible with our burned AVCHD disc. Even a Sony blu-ray unit that states AVCHD, will not play my AVCHD burned disc. Best bet is to try the disc at an electronic store with several brands/models. I consider this a major problem in producing HD work in that customer usage is questionable at best. If you check the "search" in this forum, you may find some information on specific brands/models that will play them back. I found by trial and error that a Panasonic DMP-BD60 will play my AVCHD. I bought it over a year ago, so it's probably outdated by now. Also some manufacturers recommend updating the BD player firmware for more recent compatibality. :(

Tim,yes it was 2 blue ray players,i'm told i've an annoying habit of presuming everybody knows what i'm talking about guess they're right, sorry, the disc does play in MM

Bob,funny you should mention Sony as it was a Sony that played the disc,my perferred brand is Panasonic and as AVCHD is there format (afaik) i presumed there would be no problem but i think i may have found the answer, the master disc was on a Verbatim DVD+R DL and i've never had much luck with Verbatim.

I seem to have found the problem burning a AVCHD disc after phoneing Michael Dyson (tech support UK) he advised using the HD 1480 x 1080i instead of the HD 1280 x 720i so reloaded disc split a few minutes of and burned to disc DVD-RW,in to MM and after a drum roll it played without a problem so tomorrow i will take the disc plus a copy on a write once disc in to my mates shop and see what happens

Good to hear some limited success at least Charles.

I can add to this topic that in the UK the Panasonic DMP-BDT110 3D Blu-ray player will play AVCHD discs created in Arabesk on both Ritek DVD-R and on Datawrite DVD-RW
