Reducing size of image to burn SD DVD

I have been trying to lower the resolution of my projects from 1440 or 1980 x 1080 to 720 x 480 to output to a standard definition DVD. The image comes out squeezed, meaning 480 high, but width looks narrow. I want to have the proportions as with the original with black bands above/below. How do I do it? Using Arabesk 6, Bogart SE Gold edition 7.2

I assume you're trying to get the borders on top and bottom? Have you tried making a scene of your story board, then using the clipboard, bring it into a new project set at 720x480i in 4x3. It will take awhile to render, might want to try a small test clip first.
