Do you remember the Bolex...

Post by ASHampton »

...Well its being reborn...in a digital form factor. Super 16mm sensor, 2K RAW, XLR inputs and the cost is supposed to be less than the Canon 5D MK III.

I just watched the trailer Seth this is so exciting for the future !! much cheaper than RED or the C300 :)
The new expensive 5D Mark III also means the 5D Mark II is coming down in price and that's good for everyone !!

Casablanca Unit: S6000 (40 software pkgs. from AkabaHD to Twixter) 2 OLD firewire Casablanca Classics (fully-loaded). Hoping eventually for the perfect camera (sometime before I die of old age). Sony 96GB HDR-PJ790. Several lighting & audio recording systems. A very old, 2006 MacPro tower 4TB hard drive & 30GB memory. More LCD monitors, TVs, tripods and misc. equipment then I want to admit to.

I used a Bolex 16mm in early 70's. A macro super 8 Bolex in the late 60's as a kid... The Digital Bolex looks awesome. Went to site and was floored, especially at purchase price on Kickstarter!
Too late. Oh well... Even though the Bolex I grew up with and the Digital Bolex have little to nothing in common.
