I tried just about every key stroke and method to get out of media mananger. I was editing, went to MM, tried to get back to edit some more, NO Dice.
Yes I hit the "0" key many many many times and MM keeps turning on. Tried several operations in MM, Media Mananger functions fine so it's not the hard drive. Tried loading Bogerrt 5.3 set up disc, blank screen. Take the disc out and boot up again, back to MM again. The front screen on the unit the blue window shows main menu. Does anybody have a magic key stroke?

I don't know any magic combinations to solve your problem. The way I solved so many of my problems was to get rid of the S4000 Pro. Life has been worth living since then, with my
trust worthy Karat. S4k worst casablanca EVER and I have owned many different models. YMMV

Dear Franklin,
I have tried a full install but all I end up with is a blank screen and no readout on the units, blue screen. Fortunately I have down loaded some stufff I had on my hard drive a while back so that's no problem. I sent a notice to Chet Davis and he said he would look into the problem, so I will wait a while and see what he can find out. The S-4000 has been a work horse for me, maybe I worked it to hard. Been looking at a new laptop for Windows but don't know what requirements I should be looking for in a unit.

Ronald,I am in the same BOAT,looking for a NEW LAPTOP,to jump in B4W and put my S-6000 to rest + backup emergency unit, but MS US will released those Laptops an Desktop this year(2105),so maybe I will wait a few months if I don't find a trusty and workhorse deal.

About S-4000 PRO, a agree with Bob,this has been the BIGGEST NIGHTMARE EDITOR FROM Casablanca that I ever use...
since day 3,problems,problems and more problems, off course I changed for a S-6000,much better but still a few nightmares to.

Best Franklin !!

FIRST, THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS BOGART ISSUE, AND IN THE WRONG FORUM GROUP.

But since it is here, I will answer it here, and then see if I can move it.

As with most computer problems, this is usually a software corruption issue 90% of the time.
So reloading the Bogart Operating System 4, 5, or 6 destructively should work.
Sometimes it takes more than one destuctive install to solve.
If 2 trys don't help, try another disc.

If software does not solve the problem, then it is a hardware problem.
The most common hardware problem for this symptom is a failing hard drive.
Fortunately SATA hard drives are still being made (not so on the old Smart Edit systems, which used ATA drives).
If you don't have computer skills I would get an RMA # for the Hard Drive replacement.

Ron,

Are you in dual monitor or single monitor mode? There are a few things that can be done.
