I'm using the free trial of Bogart and for the most part like the software. The one issue I have is when i'm importing a video into Bogart I have to play through the video in real time before I can edit it. Is this just a downside of the software or is there a way around this?

Bogart has to transcode any new footage. It will import a variety of formats and some import quicker than others. It also depends on your computers hardware. Depending on what codec your footage requires Bogart has to adapt to it, is how I understand it, so that all footage imported is in the same format, whatever that format is. I'm not an expert in these types of questions. But I do know that anything played from tape is imported in real time. Digital video from a data file can vary on how long that will take depending on codec, bit rate, frame rate etc.

Greetings. Importation is dependent on the processor and RAM. I have an i-7 4th Gen......32Mb RAM. Dell 8700 Souped up.

My files fly in FAST except for 4K. However, I can downconvert 4K on my standalone.

. In Bogart 7 W, we can work with 4K. That's for another day.
