Good job Joel. What effect did you use to float the scenes through the video at the start. I have a job I am working on that I would like to do that. Thanks Bob...

Joel when I bring up my PIP Studio it says to insert the pip studio operator in the story board first. What is that I Have pictures I want to use but for some reason I can't figure out how to use them. Thanks Bob...

Bob,

I'm sure Chet could give you a better break-down of the steps.

I am not sure what you mean by "operator" but to create the effect, start with your first base empty scene which could be a black, color, animated background, video clip etc...then add the second scene you wish to float over on the story board (be sure to trim both clips to the exact length or the effect will not work properly) set the transition length to the same length as the 2 clips (example: two 5 sec. scenes = 5 sec. PIP studio FX length). Go into the edit effect menu and select the movement pre-sets or custom, then you can start to drag and size the PIP image to the desired place inside/outside of the base scene, then adjust where you wish to start and end the moving PIP say from left to right right to left etc... You can use the presets, but custom gives you much greater control. Once you have set how and where the PIP image will float over the base scene, then render and make a scene and repeat the above steps to use multiple moving PIPs over one base scene..

Hey Joel
I can't get that far. It gives me that request for an operator and I can't figure out what it wants. I looked on the expert site and I can't find any help there. When I click on launch PIP-Studio it gives me that request to insert pip studio operator.
I'll e-mail Chet I guess and see if he can help. I want to use the floating scenes in a production I am working on now. Thanks Bob...

Hey guys......the Operator is what MS calls adding the PIP symbol between the two scenes. Without it placed there nothing works. You just hit the ADD button and it puts the red PIP symbol in between the two scenes in the storyboard. It's been that way for ever. Then hit the Launch PIP Studio button and off you go.

All effects in the storyboard have to have the so-called "operator" added before they function.
