Casablanca Colleague Syl Renaud of Reno Video Productions in Canada shared the a video on Vimeo and I liked it so much (and what it might mean for other videographers) that I did a short write-up on my Casablanca Expert Blog entry for today Using Video to Promote Still Photography? Yes!

Chet, back in April I shot birthday party for an 85 year old, and was paid by one of her kids. I later decided that it would be good idea to make a free video for her to remember the occasion. Had a lot of fun making it, and the client LOVED it! Since it used copyrighted music, I couldn't charge anything for it, but it was fun to make and get a handle on rubber-banding the audio to make it work. I also did a video for a friend's daughter's birthday a year ago. She has Down's Syndrome, and all of her friends and family came for it. That was fun to make, too.

I'm not sure that this is an appropriate use of this forum. However, I may have missed something in the translation. The web page that this leads to is not about Digital Editing or video production, but seems to be selling world at war games.

Thankfully.....the offending link has been removed from our forum now.

I just watched the video - very nice! I usually try to get a couple of shots of the photographer and wedding party during the formals. I always try to cooperate with the photographer by discussing where we both need to be at the church and also by telling him that if he has any "proprietary" shots I will honor that (so he can sell his photographs). Then again, with the inexperienced wedding photographers coming on the scene today it's just as likely that one of them will jump in front of you to get a shot as they execute their "photojournalistic style". Don't get me started. It's the July 4th weekend and I promised myself that I'd take it easy...

Jim, the URL sent us to Chet's blog where there is a link to a video of photographers at work with a couple at a very scenic location. What happened when you clicked the link?

Craig, the link Jim was referring to was one posted by a spammer and it was on quite a few topics including my "Film Fest" post which don't get many,i presume the mods removed them post haste.
