24" monitor info

I am searching for ideas on a new 24" lcd monitor. I had the opportunity to play a (SOL burned) DVD on an HP 240h screen. I now understand the enthusiasm some of you on this forum have expressed about 1920 x 1200 monitors! It was a wow! moment. I couldn't believe the clarity and color saturation, and an almost 3-d effect.

The HP only had HDMI and VGA inputs. Although the quality would probaly not be as good, I would need an S-video input when I used it with the SOL.

If any of you have suggestions / advice on monitors, I would appreciate it.
