Need music for tribute to deceased

Post by JohnYoung »

Believe it or not my 30th High School Reunion is coming up this summer. I am putting together a highlight video of the "old days" plus I want to pay tribute to those who have passed on. Any suggestions to what I could use for this tribute part? This one has me stumped. Two were in the military but the rest were not. I would appreciate all suggestions.

Thanks,

John Young

I love "You Raise Me Up", the version done by "Celtic Woman". It's beautiful.

Greetings!

I produced a video shown at my 30-year HS reunion last year and was quite pleased. We also wanted to honor, pay tribute to our classmates who passed away. I produced a short montage with their photos (from the yearbook) in a SplitX frame w/ their names. This was set to 'Funeral for a Friend' by Elton John -- you may know this is the instrumental with some melancholy piano and Moog synthesizer (not to be confused with the song it leads into 'Love Lies Bleeding'). There is an eerie synth beginning until about 1:32 when it becomes just Elton on his piano.

I will try to get this montage loaded to my video host site and post the link later this week.

Chet

John,

You will find the short 30-year reunion tribute video on my website here http://www.casablancaexpert.com/articles/reuniontribute (along with a summary of the process to create it)

I will be conducting a Webinar in April 2009 to detail the design and production of the entire 30-Year High School Reunion Video. Check back on my webiste and visit the Public Webinars page in March 2009 for details.

While painting the dining room yesterday (working off the 'honey-do' list :) ) I heard another song that I believe would fit a HS reunion/tribute section -- 'In My Life' by the Beatles.

Chet,

Thanks for posting your tips and music suggestions for the reunion tribute. It is very much appreciated. I will be working on this project over the next several months as more pictures and hopefully video or film gets to me. Looking forward to this project.
