New Sony NXCAM

Post by JBrooks »

Looks like a new ACVHD camera from Sony (my favourite camera manufacture).
It is a little bit lower line than the great XDCAM EX1 or EX3. It can record to HD & SD simultaneously with the external flash recorder. Priced at about $4,000.00 . It utilizes 1/3 inch CMOS imagers vs. 1/2 inch in the XDCAM line.
It would be a great medium line HD camera or a great B-camera.

Wait till you see what CANON will be offering. After NAB, they will introduce a solid state camera that is nether HDV or AVCHD. Later this year or early next year look for a camera that will give SONY a 'run for the money.' Probably the Canon 5d mark 11 chips. High ISO/gain with NO grain......shoot in ambient light w/o a light? Only time will tell.
