That is impressive. It's only 1/3 inch imagers compared to Sony's 1/2 inch imagers found on the EX series cameras therfore, not as good in low light. I do like the 50mbs feature. It would be nice if MS would make a selectable bit rate say from 18-50 for the wide range of cams and hi-end formats. With Linux and Bogart this is probably very possible.

Does anyone know if the camera has the rolling shutter that gives horrible distortion on some moving objects? I know that this is a problem with Sony cameras with CMOS chips. There is also a problem with flash that means wedding videographers have problems too.

I am using the Sony Z5 with 3 1/3" CMOS. After about 60+ hours of recording, I haven't seen any "horrible Distortion". YMMV along with source material. ;)

I sat down with this camera for well over an hour at NAB. it is a fantastic unit! i was blown away at the quality of the images. Even tho the chips are only 1/3 inch it is most assuredly going to give SxS and P2 cameras a real run for there money for the simple reason of not using a proprietary card system. The 422 color space has twice of the color information as any 420 camera to boot. Comparing cost of units with the same Mpeg2 record rate and color space you just cant beat it. My two cents.
