LP or SP recording?

Just read an intersesting article Re. LP/SP recording.
A VHS Track was 49 microns wide!
A DV-LP track is just 6.7 microns wide, which is about one twelfth the diameter of a human hair!!. Its not difficult to see that the accuracy of mechanical and tape path alignment inside the camcorder is crucial! DV-SP tracks at 10 microns, offer a better prospect of good data recovery in the event of slight mechanical and tracking errors that can arise during playback in a different deck or cam. or in the same one that has been run in and worn. To those who use LP recrding to save on cost....Beware........Beachy
