System Locks Up

Post by RonaldPawlak »

I am really stumped, this is new to me. I put a bunch of stills and video into the scene bin, the client told me what he wanted in the story board. It was a very short program, only 3 min. 58 Secs. He wanted it put on a DVD for Christmas present to his wife of a trip he to to San Francisco. There was not going to be any chapters.

I went to the finish program - selected DVD Arabesk 4.0- add Film - Select Project - Image High - Uncompressed Audio - Program Size 7 Percent - Free Capacity 89 Percent - Removed all old Programs - No Chapters - OK - In Info Edit Hit All - Hit Create - System Freezes with the hour glass sitting there for a long time. and I get this message.

"The loaded archive contains references to scenes which are either already removed from you project, or not avaliable anymore, Please check your settings".
All the scenes are still in the scene bin, What loaded archive are they talking about?
Please check what Settings?

System locks up and the hours glass remains on the screen till I "Force power Off:

All the scenes are still in the scene bin, I checked to make sure.
I made a scene of the whole story board and put in another project, same results.
Dumped the story board from the original story board to tape and reloaded it to another project, same results.
Shut the system down on an emply project, didn't make a bit of difference.

I ran out of ideas. Could it be a bad OS and I will have to reload it again. "Please say no". :o

I never ran into this situation.

Have not run into that one before.

You have done all the things I would have to try to fix this regarding it being a material issue.

The only other thing that comes to mind is an Arabesk partition corruption and that would take a full, destructive install to fix I believe.

You could try going into System Settings, Install product and removing Arabesk, powering down and try a non-destructive OS install and then re-activate Arabesk.

I don't think that will work, but it's worth a try before using the full, destructive path.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

I figured out the problem. There was one photo in the story board that I imaged process (sharpened) and made a scene of it. But I did not replace it in the story board, forgot.

There were a couple hundred scenes that the client had to chose from to put in the story board. When we had the storyboard completed I made a scene of the project and put it in the clipboard and forward it to another project to burn a DVD.
Before I did that I went to the original project and deleted all the unused scenes in the scene bin to get rid of the clutter. Accidentially, I also deleted the scene
(sharpened) that I made of the image processed image in the story board. So it was no longer in the storyboard.

When it come time to create the finished DVD that sharpened scene was not longer in the storyboard and ARABESK was looking for it to create the program. As soon as I found the scene again and put it in the storyboard the program was successfully created,

Hence the messge "scenes which are either already removed from your project, or not avaliable any more."
