Hello Cassie friends. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding an A/D converter that will convert component RGB to DV 1394? I read on-line about canopus and other brands that offer such converter boxes but I don't know if they are compatible with our systems. Also, there are component to USB 2.0 connectors on the market. I am working with a customer that is using a switcher that only has RGB component outputs ( I think he has the wrong type of switcher for their needs) and he is wanting to input to his S-4100.
Thanks for any info.

Re: Component to 1394 DV/HDV
I use the Canopus ADVC-500 to convert to 1394. It has been compatible with Prestige, Renomee Plus and S4000 Pro. No issues. Works great for transferring Betacam SP to DV for editing or just dumping to DVD. The ADVC-500 offers locked audio as an option. Also has adjustable audio for correcting volume level during the analog to digital transfer. Not compatible with high definition.
