Attention all Ghru's!!!
I am negociating with a company that does pay per view. I have sent them some samples of my work and they liked it. They then sent me a link to access their FTP system, what ever that is, to upload my video to them. Well I followed their instructions and filled out a long form online. When I got tothe end of it it prompted me to upload and I got an error mesage stating that the program couldn't upload a file with a VOP extention. It had said at the front of the form that their program could automaticly convert any file format to what they needed. I guess except VOB ext. I e-mailed them back and they sent me another e-mail saying That I had to put the program on CD not dvd so that VOB ext was not there. Can I put video pon a CD with my Renommee? If not how do I change the formay of the file once its in my PC? I don't want to e-mail them back and tell them I don't umderstand and let them think I am a dummy. Then again maybe I am! LOL! Thanks Bob...

Personally, I'd direct firewire the Storyboard to the PC so you have the highest quality file on the PC for their software to convert for uploading through their FTP system.
Direct firewire transfer will result in an AVI file on the PC which is far superior to a VOB file.

That sounds good Tim, but I don't think my PC has fire wire. I have new lap top I'd bet it has a fire wire. I'll look at that. Thanks Bob...

If your laptop does not have firewire (be aware that some of the newer computers - specifically Mac computers have a rather odd looking firewire connection (called Firewire 800 - that can be made compatible with 4 or 6-pin DV ports we're accustomed to)... another option is to use Handbrake software on your computer to rip the contents of a DVD into a video signal that will likely be more compatible with an online host. As Tim mentioned any video signal off an authored DVD will suffer some loss of quality from the DVD compression.
