DeShaker and Steady Hand

Post by videojim »

These are two different software packages that look like they do the same thing, so I am needing some differentiation. What's one better at than the other, and what are different applications for each? Thanks!

Deshaker is better than Steadyhand, but I think Deshaker is only available for the Gen3 machines.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

DESHAKER works well albeit long in rendering, depending on the settings. UNSTEADY hand, well, never had good luck with that software.

I agree with Lou,

Deshaker works great! I use it all the time to "smooth out" any hand held shots. If the footage is steady to begin with, it will produce a "steady cam" effect. The old "steady hand" software did not work very well and was kind of hit or miss.
