Charles,
So you "emigrated" from Scotland to England ! ;)
Allen is a good friend, and a brilliant videographer.
That's not just my opinion, it's his too !
He's from Paisley and I'm from originally from Glasgow. (Now living in Ontario, Canada.)
Whenever I'm in Glasgow, like I was last month, Allen is my official drinking buddy !
I'll let you get back now to your technical talk.

Hi Parsman,
As soon as I saw your username I knew you had to be a Fifer ! lol. Yes it's frustrating isn't it, especially as I've had faultless HDV capture over the past two years on my S4100 and now it's playing up. I can't do a full re-install yet until I get a couple of current (SD) projects completed. We'll see what happens after that, but I don't have a great feeling about it, having read your case study. Oh and good luck to the Pars in the SPL next season, hopefully my wee Paisley team can do a better job than last time... :D
Hi Allen,

I forgot to mention as well...I've also upgraded to Arabesk 5 which allows the menu option on Blu-Ray's, I edited my film (a wedding) set up all the menus & titles and clicked write disc at 2pm on Saturday....Sunday night at 6pm it was still going!!! Come 8pm, i checked it and found the machine had switched off, I switched it back on only to find it hadn't burnt the disc & when I tried to write again, it started the rendering process all over again!! It wanted to go on for 35 hours!

I cancelled it and changed the render speed to fast and that worked a treat after only 7 hours...menu & everything.

Thanks for the good wishes for next season...hopefully once we get our keeper back after loaning him to you for the last couple of years, we'll be able to compete with the rest of the bottom half of the SPL

I was through your neck of the woods for a wedding a few weeks back, the Ceremony was actually in Johnstone but the Reception was in Paisley Town Hall...nice place, first time there.

Good luck with your little hassles...in a way I'm glad it's not just me!

Cheers,

Parsman

Bogart update will be with us shortly (PAL) to help with this issue.

Allen - have you got the HD-Preview set to off in Settings (if not give it a go).

Shut your HDV preview in the main settings off. Uncheck same. There is a fix coming for PAL users.

I'm using an S-4100 just now in Bogart v2.9e, it's been fine up until now, but currently having trouble capturing HDV footage from my Sony Z5 camcorder. It starts capturing ok in an HDV project but after a few minutes the picture starts to freeze, I get a lot of spurious static frames and eventually the record just times out and stops. Watching the playback on my camera screen and that's playing fine.

Any ideas ?

Hi again Allen, the latest version of Bogart...4.1c which was released a few days ago totally solves the "freezing" problem! I installed it last week and have since loaded 5 hours of HD footage onto it with freezing up once...you can even let it overrun and it still records it all, great stuff.

Now I just wish I could get my Photo Studio 2 to stop crashing every so often!!! :o

Cheers,

Parsman.
