That can happen occasionally at random when the system cannot read the data fast enough.

Or you could have a defective hard drive, even new ones are defective some times.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Hello Franklyn,

I've been getting this message quite often recently. Everything is the same as before except I'm now working on HD projects. I have added a surge protector with automatic voltage protection. I can hear it clicking in the battery operation everytime the air conditioner starts up.

But I'm still getting the "hard Drive too Slow" warning several times a week. The works still seems to be alright but it is a pain in the neck.

I have been curious as to why they went to hard drives of only 5200 rpm where we used to have them with 7200 rpm speeds. Maybe part of the problem. I just don't know.

I posted a similar problem a few months ago. I film soccer matches on a TV gantry where we have quite a bit of equipment set up, Avio, 6 DVD recorders and a few other items all being fed by one 240v socket through several extensions.

Whilst filming the game live to the AVIO and DVD recorders, the AVIO would halt recording with the message Hard Drive too slow. I assumed it was a problem with the drive so tried another drive and that also failed so tried another AVIO and the same problem.

I thought it may be that we might just have too much drain on the mains so tried a direct mains lead to the AVIO and touch wood, we haven't had a problem since.
