Sharing new MSUS info on camcorder-editor compatibilities

Post by Gordon »

In my continuing drama re purchasing a 2011 HD camcorder compatible with my S2000: I emailed MSUS re my latest problem (an embedded cam memory works but an SDXC card memory won't) and, ignorant of this problem, MSUS contacted Germany. A reply email reveals: the SDXC 64gb card will not work with MS machines. It's a new format exFAT file not supported by MS yet. If enough of us ask for it Germany may include it in the future. btw - same suggestion is true for supporting a 60p/fps recording mode in the future. (only 30p or 60i works now.) SDHC cards are supported by MS. Also learned: Bogart 3 and above does support a cam bit rate of 24 Mbps. (many 2011 cams deliver its best picture in 24Mbps.) Lastly, in an effort to assist future cassie members who will be navigating the challenges I've faced with little or no current knowledge on the 2011 - and beyond - camcorder-editor issue I'm asking MSUS to add this new info from Germany to the MSUS website. With a SDHC card coming soon I hope/expect this will end my drama. ps: anyone want to buy my new SDXC 64gb card?
