Export to Flash Drive then to PC?

Post by Charles »

Been asked to transfer some analogue footage to Flash Drive length of footage is approximate 450 minutes I’m presuming I would just transfer in to the S3000 then to F.D using the OPT option however I noticed that it states “scene” to export would I need then to make a scene of the 450 minutes to do it in one or can you export each chunk of footage separately? Now the $64000 question can you then import from the F.D. to a PC?
T.I.A.
PS Approximate what size of F.D. would i need or better to use 2 drives
Regards

You have your work cut out for you using the OPT method. You can make a 450 minute SCENE of the SB. OR spend a week and enter 450 minutes worth of separate scenes.

Keep in mind, even if you make a 450 minute single scene, the files will break-off when full and you will still have separate scenes as 450 minutes is a long time for a single file. I think around every 12-15 minutes, you will observe another AVI file. I think. Maybe other can confirm same/

Yes...media manager and then choose a compression that will work for you. There has been reports that the OPT is not the way to go except for web applications. However, I use it all the time, directly to a USB Flash and then plug the USB thumb/flash drive directly to my SAMSUNG HDTV.

It looks fine to my eye except some compression artifacts in very dark areas. So, just be cautious of the quality.

ALSO...be cautious of the software player you use on your PC as this tends to introduce artifacts from player to player. I noticed this with i-Player vs. Splash Player vs. Window Media vs. VLC vs. a few other players.

Some players show a better quality picture than others.
