Do we have anything in our software (or perhaps the need to use 2-3 audio effects) that would remove a slight ambient noise that was picked up through a church's house system? I have other sources to use, but would only have to use this one house feed which has everything perfectly balanced (podium, priest, cantor, etc.), it's just that the house system has some ambient noise that you can hear constantly going. Would love to be able to remove this, but am unaware of any software that we have that would work for this.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Audio Fix Question
Hello John,
Depends on what that ambient noise is -- the Audio Effects Pack (available for both Smart Edit & Bogart OS) has a number of very useful filters and tools. Among them is the Filter - this is a band pass/band stop filter. To be successful using it you must isolate the offending frequency and then cut or de-accentuate that frequency/range. The trick is that we often have desired audio in the same range as the offending audio.
If it is more than a simple fix, you might do better to export the audio (from CD in the Audio Record.Edit) menu and use a computer based software like Sound Soap, etc.
Regards,
Chet

Re: Audio Fix Question
John,
Could you describe what you mean by "a slight ambient noise"? Is it at a constant pitch like a 60 cycle electrical hum, or something generated by machinery like air conditioning
