The Nikon may make a different kind of 24p than what you shoot with. The D90 makes a motion jpg, whatever that is. Chet was saying that 24p he had seen got in trouble quick on the sync side, but the 24p he had was NOT from a Nikon D90, I don't think. Like AVI's, there are different flavors of 24p, apparently, based on file type, and camera maker, and other factors I am sure. Is yours losing sync fast, and what are you shooting with?
BTW, my 24p files are holding up good lip sync up to 3 1/2 minutes in the S6000. There were some times when video got locked up in playback, but kept the sync after that point.

Re: 24p don't forget this option please.
Don't forget 24F as well used by some Canon cameras. Motion Jpeg(s) is a more mature and phased out codec with NO international agreement on a standard. Used years back for PC applications that were sans a fast processor. It is lossless however, but has been replaced by MP-4. It is also important to note that Motion Jpeg's are INTRAFRAME which can cause audio issues.
My Panasonic uses AVCHD-2 and in 24P I lose audio sync 'right off the bat." Our systems have the same issues as other operating systems with all different sub-codecs, containers, wrappers, manipulated AVCHD etc. etc. Yeah....I know.....you are getting a headache.

Re: 24p don't forget this option please.
This is a topic that I will like a respond from Jorg Sprave about this issue with 24p in GENERATION 3 (2012) cassie.
All others editing software (Premiere,Vegas, Edius,FCP,Avid, and many more) dont have problems with 24p,why
we(Casablanca editors),can't deal with 24p when this is something MANDATORY in the video industry ?.
Nothing agains 60i,but after shoots in 30P and 24P the 60i footage looks OLD FASHION...

Re: 24p don't forget this option please.
Come to find out that the D90 will only make a 5 minute scene in HD. It was the first Nikon D SLR to do video, and it does it very well, but it gets hot quick, so it will make a good B-roller, and I'll have to get a camcorder to take longer work. Still, I can shoot 24P that the S6000 will work with. I have seen it do well up to 3 1/2 minutes and have no doubt that 5 minutes will be no problem for it.
