PS2 no pictures

I put some pictures on my memory card that I use all the time to transfer pics to Photo Studio2. This time i went to transfer and it says no pictures on card. But if I click on photo transfer, it transfers them just fine.
Two questions, Why seen in one program and not the other?
Second question, Is there any way to transfer the those pictures in my scene bin to PS2?

What resolution are the pics at?

PS2 has a minimum resolution for acceptance that is considerably higher than PT requires.

Regarding moving them to PS2 from PT input, not practical as input via PT is at video resolutions which is incredibly inferior to the requirements needed to manipulate photos without very visually degraded results which is the reason for PS2 mandating a much higher resolution photo for input.

Other than the resolution I thought the other JPEG parameters (color) were the same for acceptance between those two softwares.

What resolution does PS2 like. I did notice one was 72. But another is 217.

The recommendation is 300 DPI for JPEGs destined for Photo Studio 2. Also, if these are monochrome photos they must be saved as color JPEGs.


There is a cool trick to bringing a still frame from a scene in your scene bin back into PS2 -- I played with this as part of my High School 30 Year Reunion video recently (and will be sharing this at the Advanced Cassie U session later this month)... the following steps show how to use a still clip from your scene bin as a background for a photo collage built in Photo Studio 2:

a) Select video scene to be used for background still, adjust IN trim position
to desired still frame
b) Using ‘Still Scene’ from Special menu in Edit Screen, select Field and
create a short length (0:01:00 for example) and click ‘ok’
c) Click on the newly created still scene in the Scene Bin and click ‘Photo
Transfer’ in Special menu in Edit screen.
d) Insert USB Drive in Casablanca USB port
e) Click ‘Export’ and ‘ok’ and select ‘High Quality’ and select source as “USB
Drive’ (this will save your still scene to the USB Drive as a JPEG file).
f) Launch Photo Studio 2 (Special menu in Edit screen)
g) Click Import and select USB Drive from source
h) Select the image previously saved in step ‘c’ above and click ‘ok’ (this will
pull that image into Photo Studio 2).
i) In Photo Studio 2 main menu, click on ‘Collage’ – select ‘New’ and add
image pulling this still scene into the collage.
j) Resize the image to fit the entire screen size (or desired layout).
k) You can now add additional images on top of this scene, enabling it to
function as your background for a collage of other still photos.
l) When you have the desired collage, click ‘create scene’ for this image to
move to your Scene Bin.

Is it possible to bring in still shots via a memory card reader using your technique? Or using a jumpstick? Just want to be clear.
Sometimes I want to work on a pic and then save it to the jumpstick and bring it over. Is jpg the only file Cassie will see?

Hello VideoJim,

Yes - using Photo Studio 2, you can import JPEGs via CD or compatible USB peripheral like digital card or USB stick (thumb drive). To use either of these you need to also have the Card Drive software activated (free, but required the 12-digit code from your Casablanca dealer or MSUS). Photo Transfer will not read CDs, but will read either of these USB peripherals (also required the Card Drive software).

At this time, JPEGs are the only image/photo format read by Photo Studio 2.
