Need new software

Hello Everyone,

I need new software for and fixing/adjusting/enhancing graphic logos for my clients businesses.

I have Photoshop2, but it does not seem to want to adjust the sizing of a graphic logo for instance, the logo spills across the screen and is just too big.

Also, for lower 3rds, which is the best software in your experience?

You will have to purchase CB PAINT 2 which is better than Photoshop as it relates to video. You can re-size your logo, add animation to your logo, add shadows etc. The list goes on and on. CB PAINT 2 also has many of the filters that are included separately as add-ons. Lower thirds can also be custom made in CB PAINT, though I do like some of the lower thirds in the various packages sold by MSUS. A NEW added bonus is the capability of working with HI-REZ digital stills via the new Photo Transfer upgrade and PhotoStudio 2. MS got this piece of software right. It is a remarkable piece of software. Why, you can even cut-out (rototrack) a moving object, shrink it down to fit in the corner of a lower third at which time it is animated.

Lou is right about CB Paint being the video version of Photoshop. However, I think you can do what you want In Photoshop without spending the time, money and learning curve required for CB Paint. Anything at all can be done to an image or a graphic in Photoshop.

Photoshop2 is a very old version but try this: Go into "Image" and scroll down to "Image size." Adjust your image (logo graphic) size to where you want it. Set the resolution to 300 pixels per inch so that the resolution will be high enough for Photo Transfer.

You didn't say what you're using to get the logo into your Renommee. I assume it would be Photo Transfer. Once you get it there, you should be able to do whatever you want with the logo, including resizing it.

Kim, just to be clear here, when you say you have "Photoshop2" do you mean you have an Adobe Photoshop program for your PC, or do you mean to say you have Photo Studio 2 from Macrosystem?

OOPS! Sorry - I meant that yes, I do have Adobe Photshop Elements 6, am still learning that program to adjust graphics to import into my Renommee.

And yes, I do have PhotoStudio 2 (Macrosystem), which I know is not designed for graphics, but for digital photos.

So, I guess the least expensive thing to do is to learn the APS-Elements6 to adjust graphics.

For editng purposes, what is the best size of a graphic/Logo for import into Renommee?

If you are looking for full-screen images/logos I would recommend 720x480 for a project in the standard aspect ratio of 4:3.

And, I do not believe you need to go into any other computer application unless you are doing some touch-up, color modification/balance or other image-manipulation.
In fact after seeing your post on this topic yesterday I was compelled to write my Casablanca Tip of the Week about the goal of incorporating a logo into your project- using the standard Casablanca Title menu! It should be posted on our website hereby tomorrow. I'll post a note here when it becomes available.
