I'm having fits importing longer NX3 AVCHD files. Any file longer than 2min:10 sec gets truncated to 2 min:04 sec approximately.
I've imported with a card reader and directly from the camera. I've imported all files as individual files and as one long clip which I
would split. Regardless, any clip longer than 2min:10 seconds gets truncated to 2min:04 to 2 min:10sec.
I've tried importing a 4 min clip by itself and it appears in the scene bin shortened to 2min:04 sec.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Re: AVCHD file truncation problem
The next thing I would try would be to import using Media manager. Import the film into your Archives using MM and then from your Archives into your project in Bogart. If that doesn't work I would try putting the files onto a USB stick or burning them to a disc and import that way. See if you get the same results. And make sure all your project settings match the footage you're trying to import, HD SD, frame size, and interlace/progressive. The Karat should be able to do it anyway but that will make it easier, less computing needed. You also might want to check Settings, then Record, Playback, and look at the AVCHD shorten in and out points. I've never used this and mine always are set at 000:000:00 but seems to me if their not at zero that could also cause problems. Cut recognition should be Automatic.

Re: AVCHD file truncation problem
What happens if you do a "New" scene black or Colour Bars etc - how long is that ?
Also it only applies to files via firewire.
IMHO This should never be set to Automatic as it seems to work for the first 15 to 20 minutes and then gets confused, well in PAL land anyway.Cut recognition should be Automatic.

Re: AVCHD file truncation problem
Ditto on all Christopher's suggestions. My bets are isolating the files and placing on a USB.

Re: AVCHD file truncation problem
Thanks for the replies! Prior to getting the responses here, I tried uploading with the Render Booster removed. That didn't help.
Then, for giggles, I disconnected the unit overnight. That didn't work either.
I was able to import the files in question by transferring them to a jump drive, then import into Media Manager. Thanks Chris & Lou!
Sadly, it was a short-lived victory. Upon trying to progress with the project, I discovered that none of the files, short or long, had audio.
I searched here for help with this new problem. I did see some fairly old posts (c. 2010) that talked about HDV codecs, but I knew none
of that applied to my issue. At that point, I realized the issues were more systemic.
It wasn't easy to find, but I located an available update for BG 5.5c. I installed BG 6.4. That finally worked, allowing me to easily import files
of all duration via the card reader and the files had audio!
Thanks again for the tips!
