I had a few inquiries this morning in my private e-mail on how to transfer HDV to the CANON XHA-1. I now have the Canon XHA-1S which should be similar to the prior CANON XHA-1. I admit, CANON really buried this menu and it is not easy to find. Here is the procedure in transferring HDV to the CANON XHA-1. I also suggest that you place a few seconds of black at the beginning and end of your Storyboard:
Put the camera in PLAY mode
Open menu
Go to SIGNAL SETUP
SELECT TIMECODE
CONNECT CAMERA TO YOUR 4000
POWER-UP YOUR 4000
USE YOUR WIRELESS REMOTE
PRESS REC PAUSE BUTTON ON WIRELESS
OR
PRESS BOTH RECORD AND PAUSE ON THE CAMERA AT THE SAME TIME
CAMERA WILL GO INTO A STANDBY/RECORD MODE
START THE S4000
PRESS the PAUSE BUTTON ON THE CAMERA OR REMOTE
PRESS STOP BUTTON ON ABOVE WHEN FINISHED.
NOTE: INSTEAD OF USING PAUSE AND RECORD TOGETHER YOU CAN USE JUST THE RECORD BUTTON BUT YOU WILL NOT PARK THE TAPE AS THE TAPE WILL START ROLLING.
