Re: Using Avio for first time
First of all a little more information on the model and software installed would have been useful. However, if this is a black plastic cased Avio ST or DV then it is no longer possible (or viable) to easily convert it to an Avio DVD. Many years ago there was a kit which included a new cabinet. The only way now would be to make access holes through the cabinet to allow the IDE and power cables to connect to a DVD burner sitting on or close to the Avio. The present IDE cable would need to be replaced with a double connector cable of the right kind (there are many, most of which don't work). You would then need to purchase DVD Arabesk authoring software. This in itself can be complicated owing to different requirements of RAM and Operating systems.
In short I would recommend buying a pre-owned Avio DVD.
