adjusting audio

I was wondering if there is a way to add some bass or make any other adjustments to audio either before it is laid on the track or some other time? This is taking a song off a CD and enhancing it. Can that be done, how and when?

I believe I just answered that in the format thread, with a Smart Edit machine your best bet would be the Tone Control to boost the low end and this is in the optional software called Audio Effect Pack.

Go into Audio Record, Edit.

Select the audio piece, go into Special, scroll down to Tone Control, boost the low end (or tweak to your preference), choose Ok.

This will create a new audio sample of the tweaked work and Add that sample to where you want it in Audio Mix, adjust the other audio tracks appropriately (volume levels) and Create (render).

Before trying to add bass eq to your CDs, have you listened to the cd on the player you intend to use most of the time? If you are listening to the CD on computer speakers you probably won't hear all of the bass that is there. The original vinyl album has probably been mastered with the RIAA eq curve, which means that the bass and treble are already boosted a bit.

Craig, this is a video that will be played back on the TV, and maybe sound a little bassier than it does now, but not much, I would bet. Thanks for your help, Craig and Tim. I started out a birthday video with music, and then faded it out after a point. Was even able to trim out the needle pop I heard before the music started, really cool. Love this system!
