I have previously inquired about the "peek-through" glitch present with some transitions after a downconvert process from HDV. Unfortunately, I have just discovered this in 4x3 SD projects viewed in Windows Movie Maker. (Now that I have finally endeavored into YouTube posting.)
My procedure was Finish to DV tape (Canon HV-20 in DV mode) then load via firewire into the desktop. I would have skipped the camera stage if I had a 12-foot cable !
The list of undesirable Transistion FX is lengthy, including PC Cube, Melt, Turnover, and Z-1 PageTurn. The safe ones appear to be Crossfade, Pattern Fade and VME Compact (various).
I am still using SE 6.2c - I am finishing old projects prior to the clean-install of SE 7.
Any ideas? Calling all wizards ... Chet, Lou, Tim, et al.
Thanks, Robert Carpentier
