Thank you Ian. Some of it I knew but a lot I didn't. I have a project dumping in now when its done I'll look at the mix screen. If I fully get the idea the safest way is to make a scene of the scenes that have audio attached. Sometimes I have to work on a project as I get what I need to add to it. I try to put the audio on last but that isn't always the best work situation. Thanks For your patient instruction. Bob...

You are welcome Bob and yes doing the audio last is always the best solution if possible.

Hi Bob

Are you putting your footage in by firewire now or still analog. Using the auto split function will speed up your editing and free up some time.
If you are still manualy splitting your footage you don't know what you are missing out on. You asked about that function a few weeks ago.
Yes it takes more hard drive space but that is easy fixed by buying extra hard drives. Have a try with the auto split I would be lost with out it.

Hey Jean, I put my footage in by S-video cable. I started doing that because some feature wasn't available with fire wire. I don't even remember what it was now. I do need to try it. It is only available with fire wire? I use a Sony HDV700 to input my tape and it has fire wire too. What I know about auto split it splits each time the camera was paused. In a long race I may pause as many as 10, 12 times . I guess that wouldn't be so bad. Why does it take more HDD space? Bob....

Hi Bob

It takes more hard drive space because there is a lot more information coming in like the split points the time code and in my point of view the footage is clearer then analog. Bob even if you only stop a camera 10 times it might take you 5 min to split it up it would take 10 sec to do it the other way. Have a play with it for fun start and stop the camcorder every 5 sec for 2 min and put it in an empty project and you will see how quick it works. My dad had a classic Cassie and when he saw the auto split function he bought him self a new one and loves it and wouldn't go back to manualy split his footage. :)
