Hi Jim glad your's is working I just did an update on 3.2 went to use wd ext. It went to it in projects I clicked on project shut down with front panel showing project setting had to force quit. I am really getting upset I don't know what else to do.

The only thing left for you to try is request a new software and o/s disc and do a destructive install if nobody else is reporting any issues with S&S it could point to a bug in your system or both systems.
Or as you have 2 x S4000 could you transfer any projects on the least full one out to tape,then do the install on that one and dependent if you have the discs start of with Bogart 2.5c as in Pal land that was the first o/s version that S&S worked with and just keep going up with o/s upgrades till fingers crossed you find a o/s that works with S&S

I have NEVER found the non-destructive install to fix any OS glitch, not on the Smart Edit machines, not on the Bogart machines.
Never. . .
In fact, there are known glitches that using the non-destructive install can cause on the Bogart machines resulting in non-functionality of some software, specifically several of the graphic programs at least on certain machines.
If you have HD Backup I would use it to the external drive and then do a full, destructive install, restore your Projects via HD Backup and see if that fixes the Share & Store software for you.
