Hi John
Here is an option for cheap camera light system.
Have you heard of the led lite panel camera lights.
They are pretty expensive so I did a search on eBay for them.
Search "led camera light" and you will find the much cheaper option
for only $70 you get a very powerful light that easily lights up a room
and you can use a variety of camera batteries with them just click them on the back.
They also have a dimmer switch so you can dial down the intensity.
The best thing is they go forever-on one small camera battery it runs for over an hour
so during speeches I use that as my main light. No hassle putting down cables
just attach it to your camera and Bob is your uncle (sorry Bob I had to use that frase)
Good luck with it all

Hi John,
We are probably one step up from a hobbyist, we don't earn a living from what we do so most of our gear is consumer gear. We are fans of a local professional football (soccer) team here in the UK and have basically fallen into videoing the matches for them, and sometimes we do the odd interview in one of the executive boxes at the ground which on a night are quite poorly lit.
We have a light similar to yours bought from the local DIY place albeit just the one and it sits on the floor. We point it up to the ceiling and let the light bounce off and as the room is quite small it gives very good results.
Best regards,

The LED 186 series is around 70 US dollars and fits on the camera. Big problem is the cheap Accessory shoe attachment. Very flimsy.
