We have had an "issue" with 3000 and 6000 boot up with the blue flashing light. Sometimes the light on the power supply flashes too. Try disconnecting the power supply from the power and from the machine. Leave for 15-30 mins. Then connect the power supply to the power first, and the then the power supply to the machine..... and keep your fingers crossed. MSDE is aware of this and working on it. Yours might be a different problem but worth a try.

Actually, you can disconnect the rear power cable and let it sit. You probably did that anyway.

Last resort is an "F-2" boot-up.

You may have to go into your BIOS.

Then use the ARROW key to scoot over to the boot sequence-on top. Make sure you internal DVD drive is the first priority. At this point, you can't be any worse off than you are. Try different boot sequences.

I guess an obvious answer would be to use 2 back-up drives. :D

Bob I have 4 EXTERNAL HD,how you do a BACKUP from those EXTERNAL HD?

This big question is,because my internal is been corrupted 2 times, and I have
to do a full install,so everything is gone, but if you make a backup from your
internal, you will sleep very well, what about if one of your external hd gets
corrupted or a CRASH erase one of your projects ?... :o
In my IMAC every external HD had a copy just in case

Yes Charles STORE AND SHARE is the way to connect any EXTERNAL HD but my
concern is if I want to make a BACKUP from any of my 4 EXTERNAL HD in use
so if any of those 4 external HD gets corrupted like happened to my internal HD
there is no way to do a backup to any external hd...

If you want to back up the work of an external hard drive it's really, really simple.

Do the same initial back up to two external drives using Store and Save or HD Backup.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

If you are worried about a mechanical HD, you always go to the FINISH window CREATE to HDV tape as well. Also...the S6000 will allow rendering in the FINISH window the same as smart rendering. You can continue to work on your project while the HDV format is rendering in the background. Of course, you can always save to FLASH-non-mechanical.
