Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.

Post by CasablancaExpert »

Just for the sake of 'fun' I was trying another route to solve this desire, but alas it was not to be.
I was thinking it would be ideal if we could load an image (picture, video still, etc.) into a Graphic Box in the titler and have that move with the title text in the Perspective V-scroll. But I learned that the capacity to add graphics into any box in this title effect is not active, not possible.

So, I think Ian's suggestion at using one of the PIP programs, ideally the PIP 3D as you have the option to set different points on your Z Axis to create a forced perspective effect for the image and then layer that with the Perspective V-scroll may best achieve the look you're going for.

Thanks for all your efforts Ian, Chet and Lou. If the 4 or us couldn't come up with a work around I guess it's beyond the abilities of our system. Dang! Such a simple effect too. Wish I had PIP 3D to play with. But I still would have a problem, Fadeing Green Screens don't work very well with BB World. Sure would be nice to have full Alpha Channel abilities with our system.

I hate the system beating me, so I have played around with this issue a little further.

It can be done with reasonable success using PIP-Studio 3D. The main reason for this is that the speed of travel of the PIP can be varied between way points and therefore made to match the text travel reasonably accurately.

The speed of travel for the perspective text is not constant, since the further away an object is from the viewer, the slower it appears to be travelling. Therefore to make it look realistic, the text is travelling at a faster rate at the start, than it is at the end. Quite clever really.

With my test I tried packing in way points at the start of the travel to see if the rate of travel was linked to the distance between way points and therefore speed up the rate, but points in PIP-Studio only change the direction they do not appear to change the speed of travel.

Even with PIP-Studio 3D, reducing the PIP size and making it fade at the same time, is not possible, but by changing the angle in the Z plane (the H setting) it could be made to look quite good.

I’m sorry to say Paul that none of this helps you, but I thought you might be interested to know why.

At the risk of opening up a bag of worms, I dare say this could have been achieved with CB Paint?

YEP.......three steps in CB PAINT and maybe 5 minutes to set up two perspectives. Layer #1: Titles and then slanted. Layer#2: Background-slanted. Layer#2 timeline pushed to the left (shrink the timeline) to match the title timing in above title layer #1. BINGO!

Image But, alas......we no longer have this professional software in Bogart.

WOW Ian, when something challanges you you REALLY go at it. :x I was using every trick in the book myself and couldn't get it so it looked "Professional".

And Lou, not having CB Paint myself I knew it would be a piece-a-cake. It was the only truly Professional piece of software out for our system. ;)

Look's like it's "out of system" here I come.

Thanks a million guys.
