If you are experienceing a slower than normal power-down sequence, do the following:

.ENTER MEDIA MANAGER

.OPEN systems TOOL ICON

.OPEN #8 which will read DEVICE

.SET STANDBY MODE>POWER SAVE>IMMEDIATE

I thank the MS folks in Austrailia for the above.....can't take credit for this one.

My S4k also came with setting "IMMEDIATE"

Some may have changed during updates. I came across this in the Australia site and just wanted to pass this along.
