I am completely confused.

Since before Christmas I have been trying to update my S4000Pro to Version 2.0. I tried to download the OS via the internet with no success. I got hold of MacroSystem a month later and had them send me a copy of OS 2.0 with the new software update. Since the middle of January I have loaded the OS 2.0 twice. I sure love loading those 12 digit code numbers in the 58 software programs that I have.
Today for the 3rd time I done a full install of the OS 2.0, this is where the confusion comes in each time I did it. I know I have to have 1.3 as well as 2.0 OS installed, and activated. But where do I get the code for installing 1.3? I'm not going to go any further until I have all these answers. I have the bonus effects codes. I have the Bogart SE V2 codes but no Bogart V1.3 codes. I tried the same code as the V2 codes, no dice. I have a code call Premium Pack, but I can't find premium pack in the list of software. I am not going to enter all those codes for the software that I have until I get this square away.
Boy I can see that I'm going to need the March Meeting this year, more now, than I ever have, to get these problems cleared up.
I also noticed that there is the drop frame problem that's being corrected. Does that mean are getting a new update so I should wait till that's taken care of?
Thankfully I don't have demand for programs as of yet. That's what I get for purchasing cutting edge electronic equipment, never again. I'll wait till all the bugs are ironed out. Should have kept my Solitaire.

Ron if I remember correctly you don't have to install the 1.3 or premium package again. There is supposed to be a new upgrade to hopefully take care of the drop frame issue, hopefully will be out soon in next couple weeks. See you at the MGT

Ron,

Use the SAME code from 1.2 and you will be in business.

Premium Pack is found in Media Manager>Open MM>SYSTEMS (wrench)>then add the code. You will see the area once you open systems in MEDIA MANAGER...NOT BOGARTSE.

.Yes.....there will be update to fix the drop frame issue that some but not all have observed.

.Yes...there is awareness of the code situation and a flash drive system is being evaluated to download/store the codes so as not to add them all the time.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll go back and work on it tomorrow. I'm brain dead today from all the frustrations I experienced today. Stay tune for further details.

Hi,
yes it's a bit confusing for the moment, but don't worry...in Europe we already have a solution to that problem...
You just have to ask Macrosystem to send you a .txt file with the codes of all your softs written in it.
They'll send you that file by email.
Then copy/paste that file on a simple usb key (a non bootable one!!) and plug that key on one of your free usb port.
You can now re-install all your softs and the licence codes will be automatically set.

That's news to us here...real good news if it can be done in NTSC.

I assume you are using a flash drive for storage?

Please give us the exact steps in order to add codes. Do we download the INSTALL AREA first etc.

I made an excel of my codes and can make a text file.

However, is the text file just code numbers? OR Does it contain the softwares names plus codes?

Please send me a sample to Gocycle@optonline.net PLEASE

You've got us thinking in a new direction now Vincent, thanks. :D When they sent us our Pros they included a code sheet also so that means they could send it to us as an email also with very little trouble. Hope it works in NTSC land. Would having a Mac in a PC world effect my ability to do this? Also, if I gave a friend my codes and HE sent them to me in an email would that work the same as MS sending them to me? See Vincent, now you've got me REALLY thinking.

Hi Vincent,
really good news.
I was one of those who asked MS for that function.
I wonder where you have these news from, since in news on MSDE site they say nothing about it.
Today I had some email contact with Volker/MSDE and he didn't say something about it.
Here is my question:
I have all of my software names and codes written in a "xxx.doc" document, what can I do to convert to a "xxx.txt" document?
Or have I to receive this xxx.text document formatted from macrosystem?
Many thanks in advance for your reply
Hans-Joachim

Now I'm confused and frustrated. Lou Bruno's suggestion about using the old code for getting OS 1.3 activated worked well and I thank him for that. I don't know where he got the information from, but it worked. Yes, I did read all the directions for installation.

Now for a new problem. I got to activate a few things, till I wanted to activate the other software that I have. I no longer can activate any of my Fonts 1 thru 7, any of my Effects pack 1 thru 8, motion packages, split X packages and all the other software.
I have about 3 quarters of all the software (about 30) that I have in the demo mod and can't be used.
Do I have a bad CD? It worked yesterday and the day before when I tried loading and activate OS 2.0. But now when I did a new full install again, and got both operating system working, I got this problem.

Hi all,

this fonction is probably already working on your ntsc machines...but, there are some subtilities... :)
Here is the procedure...again, this is only for Europe and probably only for Germany, Switzerland & Austria...
You have to ask your official dealer or MS directly to send you a .txt file with all yout codes in it. It MUST be a .txt file and it MUST be named Lizenzen.txt
It looks like this:

0000000 (serial number of your machine)

Arabesk_2: 000000000000
Arabesk_3: 000000000000
Arabesk_4: 000000000000

Then you have to copy/paste that file on a simple USB key or external HDD. Don't put it in a folder or sub folder...and don't use a bootable key or HDD !

Then, plug your key to a free usb port of your Casablanca, go to install product, choose the products that you want to install, clik on activate, wait 2 sec. and here we are...the product is automatically activated...

I suppose the procedure for the ntsc models is more or less the same...just try to replace Lizenzen.txt by Licences.txt...maybe it will work...

For HansJoachim,

this comes from my MS dealer, he asked MS to send him the files with the codes for my machines.
About Volker & co, I don't want to be too...hum... but it becomes more and more difficult to have clear answers to our (technical) questions, especially when they feel that you know a lot of things about their machines...
