I am having a frustrating time with ps1, ps 2, and photo transfer with my prestige (smart edit 4 ). after photos import, it is hit and miss if they get loaded. ps2 will stall and i have to unplug the machine to be able to restart . ps1 will load a couple photos and then the red box comes up and the whole system restarts. photo transfer won't let me create scene (button is dimmed). my best bet is to load in ps1 one photo at a time. very time consuming and frustrating. nobody seems to have an answer to any of this. i resize the jpeg photos to 780 resolution. i try to import less than a dozen at a time. . i've used different sd cards. all under 125 mb. i don't care for burning the photos to a dvd and then bringing them into the system as a video because there is a loss of quality.
i am trying to finish a project that i started in smart edit 4 over a year and a half ago to date (25 years of an association's activities which include lots of photos.. ) and this has really tried my nerves.
your help would be appreciated. the techs at macrosystems are great and i really love them all, but they are stumped by this one.

Assuming you've had success in the past and this is something new, I would suggest updating your OS 1st to see if that gets it going. Otherwise, you may need a full install which will wipe out all your projects. It just sounds like a corruption in the OS to me and the solution is to completely start over. If you have an easy way to back up your work, that may be the best route to take.

strangely enough, this was happening with the avio and seemed better for awhile with the prestige. i wonder if the software is the problem since both machines ended up having the same software...

Hello JPB,

A couple of basic things that we sometimes forget. Cassie doesn't like photos that have been reworked in photoshop. They must all be loaded with the setting set for Color even if they are B & W photos. They need to be JPGs.

Any of these simple things can give us trouble with PS-1 and 2.
