directions bassackward?

When I watch the Title Bax or PIP tutorial programs, I notice the instructor saying that a title or image goes right when it is going to the left. When I pick "right" in a preset motion, it goes from the right to the left. I thought "right" meant going in ever higher numbers on the X axis, to be specific, but the tutorial show the motion to left. What's goin on?

Jim:

In the PIP Studio program on my Prestige it also goes backwards. Right when it says it ought to go left. I dont know the reason for it, but as long as you remember its backwards just edit accordingly and choose right when you want it to go left.

Another oddity is when you are working in the mix screen, youve done with editing, you laid in your music track as background music and then you realize you forgot to put in a one or two second black scene so you can fade into your project. As soon as you put the scene up there, a box will come up asking you if you want your music scene to move. I dont, I want it to stay where I put it, so I click NO. However the music moves anyway. But if you clicked YES I do want the music to move, It stays where you originally put it. Once you get used to casablancas little quircks you wont even realize your doing a work around.

Remember, this is designed over in Germany and then the manual and such is translated to English.

So I think this is one of those "lost in translation" issues and what it really means is it starts on the right.

I put up with just so much of the BS and just lay the music down AFTER the black was added, if that's what I am doing. Just did a 4 year old's birthday party video to practice on the software, and went in with a countdown to build excitement. BTW. when I just did the opposite direction to counteract what it was doing, it didn't respond right, either. This just sounds like one of those software issues, I am going to have to work around with a manual PIP or 3D title action. It doesn't always do its preset work right, so you just have to take matters into your own hands. Good practice, anyway.

Yeah, I don't think I have ever used a PIP Studio preset in my life.

Manual setting is easy.

Its a little like the Arabesk 4 wizard. Yeah, you can let it do it, but you're only going to get dissolves. You wanna get fancy, go manual.

The A4 wizard, another "preset" I have never bothered with, too confining. :D
