Hi Lou,
please answer some questions about WD TV I have:

1. When connected via HDMI there will be a menu-like window shown on TV screen?

2.If I have saved a HDV-Project (Storyboard save) from S4K to ext. USB-HD and I connect this ext. HD to WDTV will it be shown
for transfer to WDTV?

3.If i save MTS to ext.HD and connect to WDTV will it be shown for transfer?

4.All that you play from WDTV has to be transferred to own HD or is it possible to also play from connected ext. USB-HD?

5.If WDTV case is emty without HD, what is the format an inserted HD has to be formatted to NTFS or FAT32?

6.Is it possible to format an inserted HD in WDTV?

Many thanks in advance

YES

YES
3.If i save MTS to ext.HD and connect to WDTV will it be shown for transfer?

Yes...with the new Firmware update.

4.All that you play from WDTV has to be transferred to own HD or is it possible to also play from connected ext. USB-HD?

CONNECTED USB HD...you are only using the unit to convert to HDMI. Must use external source.

5.If WDTV case is emty without HD, what is the format an inserted HD has to be formatted to NTFS or FAT32?

The WD TV is NOT a HD...it depends on an external source as above.

6.Is it possible to format an inserted HD in WDTV?

NOPE....

Many thanks in advance

Lou,
thanks for your rapid reply confirming the facts for WDTV.
Think I will get hold of this or other unit.
In basic they wrote about it in German video magazine.
There are 5 more units which were described.
Digitus HD Multimediacenter DA-70900
Dvico TVIX M-6500A
Emtec Movie Cube S800
Raid Sonic ICY Box
Verbatim Media Station (Pro)
All having some different features, some are compatible with AVCHD.
