Smart Rendering

I was working on my S4000 Pro and thought I had Smart Rendering turned on. I had some effects that were not created yet but the little Fx with the blinking dot did not appear above my storyboard. I went to the System menu and found that it was turned on. Why did it not activate? Another bug I was unaware of with the S4000 Pro????!!!!!!!

I know It does not work with some of the software on the S4000Pro.
I don't remember which off the top of my head as I do not use the background rendering feature.
What did you find it was not working with?

I was working in a typical storyboard with crossfades and titles. They stayed highlighted in red and did not render while I had the background rendering turned on.

Hi Mike
I found the same and had to shutdown to get it up and running even when I just try to render simple crossfades. I found it pretty annoying though the jumps on the screen when it was rendering in the background so I don't use it anymore. I found also that it didn't render some crossfades properly it had little glitches in some of them so now I put the fades in and make a cup of coffee, relax and get back into it a little later. I can't edit for long periods at a time - it drives me crazy so a break is always welcome.

Which title effect was it, if you recall?

Lou -
It was just simple In/Out Fading Pages for the titles.
