Is this common?

This week, whenever I was looking at a video, and put it on pause, and then re-started, it wouldn't. A box came up, telling me the system had had an error and needed to restart. After it restarted, it then said it had shut down incorrectly, and needed to be turned off and back on to continue. No matter how long or short the pause, it did this. This happen to anyone else? Thanks.

Shouldn't be happening and I have not heard of any bug like that.
Of course I have no idea of what OS version you are using, etc which would be helpful for troubleshooting things if you would put that information in the signature box of your profile so it always shows like you will see most of the vets here do.
Sounds like the OS might be corrupted.
Normally that means it is time for a full, destructive OS install.

Its all there, over to the right, Tim, Ren with OS7. I may need to go to 8 soon. This was also a "bad hair day" for the machine, having other uncharacteristic problems that day, that have not shown up before or since.

Jim, do you have SE 7.7 ? If not, you should download it and intall. I have found SE 7.7 to be very reliable and unless you absolutely have to have the features of SE8, I'd stick with 7.7 for now. Just my opinion.
