what formats?
I am moving music into the computer thru various means, and I am wondering if Renomee needs its music to be wav's, MP3's or does it matter? I may record vocalsand/or instruments, and save them to CD to input to a video, and wonder what restrictions, if any , exist for what kinds of music files the ren will take?

Re: what formats?
Jim,
As you have a choice I would use WAV files.
I think MP3 was added with SE6 or 7 so you could use them, but the fidelity would be better with WAV files.
You can transfer them with CD-RWs to the Renommee.

At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.

wav, is what wanna use, as I have the room, but I think it might be better to record in 16 bit, rather than 24. CD burner software is having trouble doing the burn. What do you know about that? I was coming from a record album, played into a digital recorder, saved to an SD card, and read into the harddrive. How's that for a route?

So what format did the digital recorder use for capture?

Re: what formats?
Digital recorder used whatever I told it. It had about 6 diferent wav settings and a bunch more MP3, plus a variable bit rate if I wanted it. This is why I wondered if I should record in 16 bit, instead of 24, at whatever sampling rate. Seems like the burner's problem might've had to do with that issue, dunno.

Re: what formats?
16 bit it is! Ran off a good recording at 44.1/16 bit and CD burner went with it. Now, it needs some bass. Guess I'll tweak in audio post at the Ren, right? This is making a recording off vinyl into a Zoom H2 Audio recorder, and it did a great job!
Ran the wires straight off the table into the recorder, no problem.

Re: what formats?
Well in Bogart SE we have an Equalizer, but in Smart Edit SE your best bet is Tone Control with which you can effect a cruder, broader range (ie: low end to boost bass).
Tone Control is part of the Audio Effect Pack which is an optional software.
