Importing logo

Post by videopro »

What is the best way to import a company logo into my Renomme, and what is the best way to integrate it into a corporate video?

Thanks

Are you going to have it transparent, so it sits on top of your footage, like a layer? Then print it out on a transparency, and shoot it on a stand against a blue or green background card, so BlueBox can separate it. I am contemplating doing the same thing. Let me know how this turns out.

In the S4KP, there is a graphic option in the Finish menu. I've used this but opted not to use it because it runs over the whole project. I want to try to break up my project and run this option and then use clipboard to put it in and out. Maybe you understand what I'm saying.

You can make a scene of a part of your project and then do the Finish graphic option.

Then you should be able to put that scene with the graphic into the clipboard and export it to another project.

I've not tried this, but when I used the Finish graphic option as a test, it accepted a png as I remember. It looked good and allowed you to position the graphic and size.

Has anybody done what I'm suggesting?

Also, Chet has a suggestion one of his tips that uses the titling menu. I've used this with so-so results. I wish I could use my Anim X to do this. Anim X is wonderful but you're limited to their animations and graphics. Lou can tell you all about that program. I've built my own combinations of the Anim X graphics and combined them with my photoshopped logo effectively.

It would be great to be able to do this with my show. My online player has a watermark that is in the corner and a little transparent. That was not done in the S4KP.

There are several methods of achieving this effect, but to explain what is the best in your situation, it will be necessary to have a little more information. Also it would help to know what programs you have, since some of the methods require certain programs.

For instance do you have BB Bluebox world, PIP Studio,Effects pack 5, Photo Transfer or photo studio 2?

How is your company logo currently held, paper copy, scanned copy, power point, photo *jpg, etc.

Is the logo on a solid coloured background, if so what colour

Do you require just the logo outline superimposed, or do you want the logo complete with it’s background, presumably some kind of box shape. If you can describe the logo and it’s background, it will help.

Sorry to be a pain, but knowing the above is really necessary if we are to answer your specific request.

The following is an example of one method, which may give you some ideas, but as said I have several other methods if I knew your requirements.

Water Mark Using Bump (effects pack 5)

This procedure will enable a water mark or logo to be placed on a scene, similar to those on the television channels.

This process describes the building of a logo using the titling program, but a logo can be imported by one of various methods and using PIP, both sized and placed as required. The logo will need to be placed on a black background.

1. Select the scene in the story board that the logo is to be superimposed upon.
2. Using “new”, make a black scene of the same length as the scene in 1 above and “add” this to the story board, behind that scene.

The next sections refer to the making of a logo, but if a logo already exists, place and size the logo, using PIP Studio, as required on the black scene (e.g. place the logo using PIP in the lower right hand corner of the black scene) and move on to step 7.

3. With the black scene highlighted, select “titling”, “add”, “adding page” or “through fading page” and set the fade time as required, normally zero.
4. Select the “edit / enter text”, “text”, “font” “dings symbols EFN”, set the size to 70, “OK”. From the text box, select the foot symbol, “OK”..
5. Select “style”, “colour” and set to mid grey, with the alpha at 100%. No outline, shadow, 3D, etc. Click on “TE”, “boxes”, “extended” and “minimise”. This reduces the box down to the minimum size for the symbol. Using “move” place the box as required, e.g. in the bottom corner of the screen. Click “TE”
6. Select “box”, “add” “TE”, “extended”, enter some text or initials, I have used IRP, make this colour white, minimise the box as above and then place the box over the foot symbol. Click on “TE”, “OK” and from the main titling page click “full size” to see if the initials are in the correct place over the foot. If necessary go back and adjust as required, before clicking “OK
7. Create and make a scene of the result.
8. Place this new scene behind the video clip, select “fx transitions”, “add”, “bump” and set the time to the full duration.
9. Using the “full size” key, set the light source and intensity as required, OK and “create”
