Shrinking to fit

I have this logo that is full frame, and I want to shrink it so it will fit on the left side of a name when I put up a title. When I have the head person speak, I plan to use Title Bax to throw up a background, then place the logo on the screen with his name next to it. How do I shrink this logo, which is being brought in as a jpg thru Photo Studio 2, and saved as a scene? I also don't know how long a scene I should make of it. Ideas? Thanks!

Hello Videojim,

It would seem to be a matter of editing your talking head first to know how long that will be. Then I would use PIP Studio to place your talking head over your desired background so that you can get an idea of how much space your logo needs to occupy in the frame. Obviously you need to know how long your scene with the talking head is, before you do anything else.
Lock all this together by creating a "SCENE" of it, so that you can go to the next step without undoing the beginning steps.

Then I would use PIP Studio to shrink and place the logo in the scene at a location that is pleasing to you, remembering to allow room to add the desired title or name etc. that you want to add to the scene. PIP Studio is a great piece of software but if you don't have that version...the older "Picture in Picture" will work OK, but won't do as many nice things for you.

Hope this helps,

Video Jim,

You stated you have most of the software. Would you have CB PAINT by any chance? If so, I have a tutorial in the CB PAINT forum.

CBPaint requres two screens, and I only use one. I may have to shrink this in another program outside the Cassie, and bring it in as a smaller file. That may be the way to go with this. Thanks for all the help.

The title would be applied for 5-10 seconds, at most, to identify the speaker, and then fade out. That's why I liked the process I saw in the Title Bax. But I will give PIP Studio another look. Its impossible to remember all the tricks all the time.

Hello Jim,

Yes - you can use the Box function in your title menu in conjunction with the Custom images in the Casablanca Image Pool to perform the effect you are looking for. This allows you to take a still image (or freeze frame of video) and size it to your preference and freely size and position it on-screen.

For those who are members of my website you can learn the procedure from the step by step tutorial here:

Sounds good, Chet, thanks. Have not gone to your site yet, but would I be able to use a jpg logo to place in this title? I will look later. Thanks again. Jim
