making scene of story board

HI,
I have almost finished editing a video interview of my uncle. When I try to add a transition or remove the last scene I get a red box that says an error occured and the machine then goes to screen that states the machine was not shut down correctly. I can replace the last scene but can not remove it. I have changed scenes that are ajacent to the last scene - that has no effect. So I thought if I could make a scene of the entire story board and put it in a different project I could eliminate the problem with the last scene that I am having. I tried the search engine and had no luck finding out how to make a scene of the story board. I've never had the red box before. And as you can see I am still using 3.6d OS. I just do things for family. But I would like to get this one done and would greatly appreciate any help to fix this problem.

Hi Bonnie. Making a scene of the storyboard is very simple. Just follow these steps:

1. Goto Image Processing
2. Highlight the first clip in the storyboard
3. Click on the Scene button
4. Give it name
5. The Range button should be highlighted
6. Click Ok
7. Click on the Out button when the Creating Scene window comes up
8. Hit the End key on your keyboard
9. Click on Ok
10. You'll now have a scene of the whole storyboard in your scene bin with whatever name you gave it.

I hope this helps!

You may have some data corruption in one of the two scenes. Try going to the scene bin and scroll through each of the last two scenes using the "Trim" function. If you find some pixelization in the process, the corrupt scene is causing the RBD (Red Box of Death) If that is the case, you can re-enter the footage, trim out the defective area, or delete it depending on the circumstances.

Bonnie,

If you succeed (or not) with creating a Scene of your Storyboard I would suggest using Clipboard to take your work (that Scene and any other remaining Scenes in the Scene Bin to another Project as that one has now become suspect.

I have run into single Projects that corrupt to the point you can no longer access them at all while all the rest of the Projects continue to work fine.

You can move audio samples you have in that Project the same way.

Clipboard is in the Special menu in both the Edit Menu and the Audio - Record, Edit Menu.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I did get the scene of the story board done and did use clipboard to another project. So I got around it. As you stated Tim,I think it was the project was corrupted somehow. When I looked at the story board in the music view there was about a 21/2 second foto showing under the last scene - and it was not a foto it was black. The same thing showed up even when I was able to change the scene.\ and I could get no sound in thaqt 21/1 second segment. Thanks for all your assistance.
